Where will DGP conflicts appear and how to ignore them? - Solution Manager

Symptom

  • Do not find open conflicts in Change Document
  • Performing project level import and getting error
  • DGP conflicts only appear in the Change Document
  • DGP conflict assignment block does not behave as expected
  • DGP conflicts do not appear in the Maintenance/Project Cycle
  • Error: Import of transport <transport ID> canceled because of open conflicts
  • Import of transport <TR IDs> canceled due to open conflicts. SAP Message Number/TMWFLOW/CSL110
  • You find the button of ignore conflict disabled
  • DGP conflicts are not appearing in a Defect Correction assignment block even though it's assigned Transport Request has open conflicts in another Change Document.

Resolution

Where and how the transport request was created will determine which documents will show the DGP conflicts:

- DGP conflicts found for TRs created from the change document, will be displayed in the change document DGP assignment block.
- DGP conflicts found for TRs created directly from the project task list, will be displayed in the project cycle document DGP assignment block.
- DGP conflicts found for TRs created from Urgent Change task lists (without CRM documents), will be displayed in the project cycle document DGP assignment block

- For Import Check:
a. When conflicts are found during a change level import for an urgent change task list (without CRM document), the conflicts are displayed in the project cycle document DGP assignment block.
b. When conflicts are found during a change level import for a change document (Normal Change preliminary import or Urgent Change import), the conflicts are displayed in the change document DGP assignment block.
c. When conflicts are found during a project level import (triggered by 'Import Transport Requests' (Background) task in the project task list), the conflicts will be displayed in the project cycle document DGP assignment block.

Please see also wiki 7.2: How to work with Change Request Management Downgrade Protection (DGP) and specially section 4.4. Project level and change level conflicts.

This affects Solution Manager 7.1 SP05 and up.

Starting in SP10 the Quality Gate Management interface contains the DGP tab, which shows all conflicts for a project.  Including change level and project level conflicts.
